We know how difficult it can be to say goodbye to your pet. We are passionate about providing the best end of life care possible for animals and their owners. Through our In-Home Euthanasia care we aim to provide pets and their families with gentle, end-of-life veterinary euthanasia services. A Hospice/Palliative consultation is not required, however, all new patients must have a brief physical examination before sedation unless they are aggressive. We can also provide a house call Euthanasia with no aftercare, should you prefer to bury your pet yourself or work directly with a crematory of your choice. Please note In-Home Euthanasia is offered by appointment only and is not an emergency service.
What Is In-Home Euthanasia?
Veterinary In-Home Euthanasia provides a familiar, an in-home, reduced stress environment for you and your pet to spend their last moments together. In-Home euthanasia can be performed outdoors or inside. Whether it's inside in the comfort of your pet's own bed, under their favorite tree, or any other outdoor place they feel safe, our goal is to provide your pet with a peaceful transition.
What Happens At The Appointment?
The doctor will arrive at your home and spend time going over the procedure with you and your family. They will answer any question you may have at this time and will proceed at a pace that is comfortable for you and your pet. Appointments typically last 20-45 minutes (we schedule every patient for an hour, just in case you need it). All pets will receive an injectable sedation to relax them before euthanasia. This initial injection will help your pet fall asleep. Once they are sleeping and you are ready, the final injection will be given. Your family will be given time to say goodbye to your pet. You can spend as much or as little time as needed. When you are ready the doctor will make a paw print and clip a lock of fur, if desired. Your pet will then be placed in a eutha-bag and transported to the car for Aftercare. If you chose to bury your pet at home, they will be placed in a euth-bag for burial.
You Will Be Provided:
- Memorial Keepsake Box which includes:
- A blanket for your pet (given prior to procedure).
- A paw print keepsake (made at home) and a lock of fur, if desired.
- A pet loss book to help the family.
- A special eutha-bag to place your pet in for transport (goodbye messages can be
written on bag if desired).
- Transportation for cremation, if selected (see Aftercare).
Aftercare (Cremation)
The doctor or technician will transport your pet and will treat them with dignity and respect at all times. Your pet will be placed in a eutha-bag and transported to the crematory for the cremation option of your chose (see Aftercare Pricing).
- Private Cremation (your pet is cremated by themselves, and their ashes are returned to
you). - Communal Cremation (your pet is cremated with other pets, and the ashes are not
returned to you).
